Instagram Augmenter (Adds playback controls and enhancements to Instagram) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

In Short: We collect minimal, anonymous usage data to improve the extension. We never collect personal information or access your private content.

Diagnostics

In addition to these event counts, each submission includes the extension version and build mode (production, staging, etc.) for debugging purposes. No device identifiers, IP addresses, or other personal data are included.

Note: The metrics listed above may be updated over time to reflect new features or changes to the extension. Any additions will follow the same principles: anonymous, count-based, and free of personal information. This section is regularly reviewed to ensure compliance with Chrome Web Store privacy policies.

Feedback Data

If you choose to submit feedback, clicking the feedback button opens an external web page (not part of the extension). On that page, we may collect:

Email Address: Only if you choose to provide it for follow-up.
System Info: User Agent (browser/OS version) to help debug issues.

Note: This data is collected by our feedback web page, not by the browser extension itself. The extension does not collect or transmit any feedback-related personal data.

How We Use Your Data

Data Storage & Security

Local Storage: User preferences and settings are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device unless you enable analytics.
Analytics Data: If analytics are enabled, anonymous usage metrics are transmitted to our secure servers using encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Feedback Data: Data submitted via our external feedback web page is stored securely and accessed only for support and improvement purposes. This data is not collected by the extension. We do not share this data with third parties.
Data Retention: Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months to identify trends and improvements.

Your Rights & Choices

Opt-Out: You can disable analytics collection at any time through the extension's settings popup.
Data Deletion: Since we don't collect personally identifiable information, we cannot identify your specific data. Disabling analytics stops all future collection.
Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all locally stored preferences and settings.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not share data with third parties except for the following:

Analytics Infrastructure: Anonymous metrics are stored in our secure database infrastructure (Supabase) with industry-standard security practices.
